Cameron
delivered bulls to Oklahoma after the sale and took a few
pictures of one customer's calf crop, of which she was really
proud, and rightly so! Sue has been buying Moser Ranch bulls
since 2000. |
Customer Appreciation Supper
Over 100
customers and family members attended the
Moser Ranch's Customer Appreciation Supper and Meeting on Friday, August
11, 2006.

|
Longtime customers Bob & Becky Smith and Cheryl & Dennis
Zumbrunn enjoy a few minutes to talk before supper is
served. |

|
Warren Weibert, center, visits with Aaron Allen, John & Isla
Faye Wegman, and Steve & Barb Frank, following the speaker
presentations at the Moser Appreciation Evening. |

|
Cameron and Michael enjoy a laugh about either farming or
cattle or something! Michael's folks are Moser customers,
and so he and his sisters came along with their parents for
the evening. Cameron and Michael go back a long way-Cameron
fixed Michael's toy Bobcat at the fair one year, and since
then, they've been buddies. Tractor talk (John Deere) and
farming make up most of their conversations.
|

|
Kayla gets in on the setting up and decorating! |

|
Kendra visits with the Illingworth family at the Moser
Appreciation Evening. The Illingworth's are longtime cattle
and horse customers of the Moser Ranch. |
|

|
Folks mingle and visit before the start of evening's
activities on August 11th. |

Feed Yard, Oberlin, Kansas, spoke about Age and Source
Verification and the special programs that Decatur County
has in place for marketing cattle. |

|
Dan Harris, Owner and Manager of the Holton Livestock
Exchange, Holton, Kansas, shared how Moser Ranch customer
cattle can have added value at the LMA-VACC sale that his
barn hosts each fall. He covered the specific requirements
for cattle to be eligible to sell at the special
preconditioned calf sale, and spoke of the premiums that
Moser cattle have received over the years at this special
auction. Over 700 head of Moser Influenced cattle are
consigned to the October 19, 2006 sale.
|

|
Dr. Larry Hollis, Extension Beef Veterinarian from Kansas
State University, addressed a very timely topic in today's
beef industry at the recent Moser Customer Supper and
Evening: Persistent Infectious Bovine Viral Diarrhea (PI BVD),
and what it costs cattle producers. |

|
Dan Harris visits with Pfizer representative John Havens,
Wamego, Kansas, while in the background, Moser herdsman Todd
Strahm talks cattle with Austin Cline. Pfizer, Holton
Livestock, Decatur County Feed Yard and Frontier Farm Credit
were sponsors of the evening. |

Performance,
predictability and customer service are cornerstones in our program.
The results are reflected in quality seedstock with the genetic
potential to provide consumer satisfaction "from the gate to the
plate.
We stress calving
ease, maternal efficiency, optimum growth, and desirable carcass
traits throughout our program. As we consider matings, we rely
heavily on high accuracy EPD sires. We pay strict attention to
balancing all other traits while maximizing growth traits as we make
our genetic selections. The ASA's herd Handler program is used to
make planned matings for every female in our herd. Strong
consideration is also given to pelvic and scrotal measurements. As
young replacements or herd sire prospects are developed in the herd,
disposition, structural soundness, fleshing ability, and
adaptability are no less important in our selection criteria.
What makes us "different" from other seedstock breeders?

Continual feedlot and
carcass merit testing of our own steers help us to know exactly what
kind of cattle we are raising... Please let us know if you would like
our 14 year summary of feedlot & carcass information on the steers
we have sent through the Commercial Cattleman's Improvement Program (CCIP)
Steer Test, the longest running steer test in the United States. It is
sponsored by the Guaranty State Bank, Beloit, Kansas. We feel it is the
most comprehensive test available, providing owners with 25 separate
areas of information on each individual animal from in-weight to
pay-weight to complete carcass data, as well as a final summary of all
cost factors involved in the feeding segment of the cattle business.

different situations, from finding replacement heifers for someone to
helping sell feeder cattle in the fall...
