High Selling Simmental Lots:

$5,300 – Lot 235M, sired by 3C Full Figures and out of a solid red Arapahoe x Redcoat first calf heifer, sold to Spring Creek Simmentals, Saskatchewan, Canada.

$5,200 – Lot 2066M, sired by Power Drive and out of a solid black four-year-old Redcoat x Bodacious female, sold to repeat customer Shoal Creek Simmentals, Missouri.

$4,100 – Lot 230M, sired by Power Drive and out of a Full Figures x Black Kat first calf heifer, sold to Forbis Farms, South Carolina.

$3,800 – Lot 205M, sired by Power Drive and out of black Preferred Stock x TNT Mr. “T” first calf heifer, sold to repeat customers Brad & Joe McAllister and AK Farms, Inc., all of Holton.

Another half dozen bulls sold in the $3000 range, with the balance selling from $1000 to $2800.

The high-selling Angus bull went for $2800 to repeat customer Larry Amon, Kansas.

A pair of Red Angus bulls sold to repeat customer Joe Domann, Kansas, for $2500 each to top the Red Angus division.

64% of the bulls sold to repeat customers. Volume buyers were Smith Farms, NE, taking home 8 head; Rezac Land & Livestock, KS, 5 head; Rick Roloff, KS, 5 head; and Bernard Ohlsen, KS, 5 head.

There was standing room only at the start of the sale. 127 buyers were registered from 11 states and one Canadian province. Bulls sold into Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Saskatchewan, Canada.

Thanks to all of you for your interest in our program. Please continue to pray for moisture. There was a great deal of conversation among people before our sale began about pasture conditions and the drought in general. Many commented that if it would rain, they would need a bull or two, but if it didn’t, they wouldn’t need a bull at all…If it does rain this spring, there will be sales better than ours, and that will be good for all of us in the business. We are thankful for the day we had.
