| The
spring bull calves were all weaned during the first four days of
September and 120+ hopeful candidates were started on the gain test
on October 1, 2003. Set up for a target 3.25# gain/day, the bulls
are being fed cracked corn, corn gluten, a mineral based pre-mix and
a high fat product in their ration. Our feeding system has seen a
big change this fall. We are now grinding our hay and feeding
everything in bunks. There is virtually no waste, and everybody
lines up at the bunk to eat! We have been researching this feeding
change for a couple of years now, and feel it will be a positive for
us in the areas of feed efficiency and overall cattle performance.
Simmental bulls in this
years offering are sired by Nichols Legacy, Black Joker, Nophalt,
Lucky Break, Lucky Dice, MSR Red Answer, MSR Next Step, MSR Arapahoe
Red and Redwood. |

Bull
calves in our S1 weaning pen line up on Wednesday morning, September
24, 2003,
for the first meal of the day. |
Our Angus bulls are sired by
6I6 and GAR Example. Red Angus bulls are sired by Chateau.
Feel free to call and come by
anytime to look at the bulls. It is a pleasure for us to spend time
one-on-one with customers while walking through the bull pens.
