Spring Calf Working
2004
|

Cameron and neighbor
Stephanie
wait their turn to push calves. |
April 9th
and 10th were busy days around the Moser Ranch as we processed all
the spring born calves.

Good friends help with a
project like this!

Kayla waits her turn to
push a calf
into the calf table.

A certain percentage
of the male calves are castrated in the spring. All steer calves are
fed out through the Commercial Cattleman's Improvement Steer Test at
Solomon Valley Feedlot, Beloit, Kansas. We have been doing this
since 1993 and have all the individual feedlot and carcass data on
every steer we've sent through this program.

We may name this Black
Shamrock baby "Nike". Appropriate, don't you think?
We're not
sure why, but Kayla loves to push calves! |

This
little guy ran the tail-gate for the calf chute most all day!! >

Calves are given 7-Way,
Bovi-Shield Gold 5 and a Pinkeye vaccination. Cows are given Bovi-Shield
FP 4 +VL5.
Calf
working is one of our favorite times of the year. |

they have had any fun!!
